Registration
When does registration open?

I don't have a teammate. Can I still fish Schoolie?
Yes. Email us at schoolietournament@schoolietournament.com and we'll connect you with other solo anglers looking for a partner.
I haven't received a confirmation email — am I registered?
Once you've submitted your registration and paid the fee, you'll receive a confirmation email with your ticket. Check your junk folder first; if it's not there, contact us and we'll sort it out.
When do I get my waiver form?
Waivers go out by email to all registered anglers. Once you've registered and paid, you're on the list.
I mistyped my team name. Can I change it?
Yes — team names can be changed until May 1. After May 1, all team names are final. Contact us with the new one.
Can I change my teammate?
Yes — teammate changes are accepted until May 1 through the contact form. After that, rosters are final.
Something came up and my team has to withdraw. Can we get a refund?
Refunds are available until May 1. After May 1, all registration proceeds go to striped bass conservation — so either way, your entry does some good.
On the water
Where are we allowed to fish?
Anywhere on Cape Cod east of the canal that you can reach on foot — beaches, flats, estuaries, jetties. If you can't walk there, it's out of bounds. Respect private property and posted access rules; see the full rules.
Can I fish from a boat? Can I use spinning gear?
No and no — either is a disqualification. Schoolie is fly only, on foot only. Read the full rules.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes — every angler needs a Massachusetts Recreational Saltwater Fishing Permit (Mass.gov, about five minutes).
How do scorecards work?
Scorecards are digital, emailed to your team's primary member the morning of the tournament, and due back by lines out. Make sure you have cell service that morning.
The weekend
Do I need to sign up for a Captain's Bag pickup time?
No — just make sure to come to the Captain's Party on Friday, May 21.
Can my partner check in and collect both bags?
Yes — one team member can check in the full team with both tickets in hand. What you can't do is collect bags for other teams; at least one member of each team must appear.
Where do we stay?
Anywhere on the Cape that suits you — tournament morning starts remotely. Book early; tournament weekend fills.
